ABOUT US

Established in 2013 Alpine Community Plantation Inc. is an independent community-based organisation.  We are the result of an innovative public, private & community partnership – the first of its kind for Australia and are responsible for the recreational, educational and community use of almost 20,000 hectares of HVP Plantations land within the Alpine Shire.

Our aim is to develop a nature-based tourism precinct with a difference.  A community-run recreational space that creates iconic hand-built walking and mountain bike trails and is the home of national and community events, within the constraints of a commercial pine plantation.
A space that is created by and for the visitors and residents of the Alpine Shire.

HVP PLANTATIONS

HVP Plantations is one of the largest private plantation companies in Australia with plantations situated around Victoria – but HVP Plantations is more than just a source of timber for local industry.

The pine plantations have been a part of the skyline of Bright and Myrtleford for over 90 years and by opening up these plantations for recreational use they want to enhance the relationship between the community and the forest industry.

HVP Plantations believe that by increasing community involvement and understanding of plantation management, the community will ultimately have a greater stake in the ongoing success of the plantation.
